October Update

October Update

30 Oct

Written By Deborah Hodgetts

During October, we have been busy starting our fundraising process for the following two projects:

·      Not Set In Stone

Aim: The aim of 'Not Set In Stone' is to create change, enlightenment, and understanding of the impact of War on the environment and humanity.

Not Set In Stone has been born from our team’s passion to make a difference in the World through our creative skills and knowledge. We have seen the impact of War across the planet; not many see the devastation on the environment, nature, animals, and humanity. Our team at Glass Haus Productions aims to lift the lid and create healing through art and creativity.

All funds raised will enable us to undertake the following strands of our multi-dimensional project:

Not Set In Stone - Art installation, which we hope to tour across the UK over the next year.

Not Set In Stone - Poetry art collection book.

Not Set In Stone - Table Top Book of Photography, Poetry, Stories, Information and the project's roots.

* Not Set In Stone - Poetry/Art films and soundscapes.

We are passionate about donating to the following charities:

* War Child

* Roots and Shoots

* Friends of the Earth

 ·      Aubrey Preeps, Counts Sheep

Aubrey Preep's Counts Sheep is a dark comic tale about the most unlikely relationships, sabotage, deceit and misguided love.

This comic tale is woven as follows:

Logline:

When Aubrey Preeps hatches a plan to live a quiet, peaceful life in the city with his favourite ewe Dolly Baar-ton, Betty Murgatroyd does everything she can to disrupt and distract Aubrey and ensure that she makes Aubrey husband number four.

Story...

Aubrey Preeps (35, Awkward, Short-sighted, Afraid of dominant women) and his favourite ewe Dolly Baar-ton create their plans to start a new life together, living in the city. Betty Murgatroyd (42, Part-time Belly Dancer, Party Girl, Man-eater) and Sheep Dip Sid (89, Self-opinionated, Flirt) do their best to muscle in on Aubrey’s plans and plot to see them crumble in the dust.

He dashes outside to find Sheep Dip Sid, and a box upside down with legs sticking out. Flipping the box over, the box totters around the farmyard, while music plays ' Hey Big Spender’. Sheep Dip Sid does a slinky dance around the box, the box suddenly bursts open, and Betty Murgatroyd stands dressed in a sheep disguise.

Betty Murgatroyd is desperate to make Aubrey husband number four. She busily sets a trail and traps around Little Bottom Farm to stop Aubrey in his tracks, sending him on a wild goose chase around the farm.  Betty and Sheep Dip Sid kidnap Dolly Baar-ton and persuade Felicity Greensmith (29, love-lorn, accident-prone, girl next door) to pretend to be Dolly Baar-ton in a sheep disguise to attract Aubrey’s attention while Betty and Sid get rid of the real Dolly Baar-ton.

Felicity Greensmith tries to warn Aubrey but gets scared off by Betty Murgatroyd.

The UPS deliveryman arrives and takes a box containing Felicity and Dolly Baar-ton.

Betty creates a romantic setting with seductive music in the middle of the farmyard.

Felicity Greensmith and Dolly Baar-ton lay on sun loungers, sharing cocktails on the roof of a city apartment. Dolly’s mobile rings, it’s Aubrey Preeps. Felicity leans in and reveals that Dolly is called Alan. The mobile screen goes black, and Aubrey stands in silence.

Why this project now?:

Aubrey Preeps, Counts Sheep, is a love story for the 21st century, when country farmers and their flock give you a whole new view of life on the farm. It tackles the pressures of farm life, mental health, boundaries, mutual respect and loneliness.
